SENDENHORST, GERMANY (Dec. 10, 11:15 a.m. ET) — Veka AG, the Sendenhorst-based manufacturer of PVC profiles, has expanded its recycling facilities in France and has revealed record recycling rates in the United Kingdom.

To increase its recycling group capacity, Veka has built a new extension to its factory in Vendeuvre sur Barse, France. The extension, which was inaugurated on Oct. 30, increases the facility from 18,000 to 30,000 square meters.

Part of this is a 3,000 square meter space dedicated to the final step of PVC recycling. Consequently Veka Recyclage can now offer a full service from collection, recycling of off-cuts and old windows, to production of recycled PVC products with the same technical qualities as raw PVC.

Meanwhile 2012 has been a record year for United Kingdom subsidiary, Veka Recycling Ltd., which has posted its largest recycling tonnage in its five-year history.

“Our team have shown great energy and enthusiasm which has resulted in greater quantities of input material won, increased production output, high quality of our finished products alongside continued high levels of customer service,” said managing director, Tony Cattini.

Veka is an international group which employs more than 3,500 people on 30 sites, and had annual sales of 750 million euros ($970 million) in 2011.
