Italian blow molding machinery builder Sipa SpA has rolled out a line of stretch blow molding machines aimed at companies in emerging markets making their first steps into the PET bottle market, called Start Blow.

Sipa is based in Vittorio Veneto, Italy. The company will build the Start Blow presses in China, where it already manufactures machines and molds. The line comes in two versions, with two and four cavities, that can pump out 2,000 to 6,000 bottles an hour. Both models are all-electric and every axis of motion is under closed-loop control.

According to Sipa officials, customers will be ablt to start production of PET bottles just a few hours after the equipment arrives at the plant. Delivery times are short for the entry-level Start Blow, in most cases not more than 45 days.

“The market for bottled water continues to grow at around 8 percent every year. But the growth is shifting to emerging markets,” said Enrico Gribaudo, Sipa’s general manager.

Sipa North America Inc. is in Atlanta.
