NASHOTAH, WIS. (Dec. 20, 3 p.m. ET) – Kim Korth has been named president and CEO of injection molder Dickten Masch Plastics LLC.

Korth has been owner and president of IRN Inc., a Grand Rapids, Mich.-based consulting group specializing in the automotive industry.

She replaces Steve Dyer, had had served in that role since joining the Nashotah-based company in 2008.

Korth also was previously president and CEO of Supreme Corp., a $300 million publicly traded maker of specialty vehicles based in Goshen, Ind.

Her appointment appears to be a good fit, since she has been vocal in saying that one of the biggest opportunities for plastics is under the hood, as automakers make changes to their engines and powertrains.

Dickten Masch recently made a big move in the under-hood automotive market. In September, the company bought fellow molder Nyloncraft Inc. of Mishawaka, Ind., with an eye on using both companies’ engineering-plastics experience to replace metal components in the transportation industry.

Korth was also named president and CEO of Techniplas, a newly formed company that includes both Dickten Masch and Nyloncraft.

“I am excited about joining Dickten Masch and I look forward to working with the DMP team to strengthen and grow the business”, Korth said in a news release.

Techniplas Chairman George Votis added: “Kim brings an enormous amount of experience, expertise, energy and passion to both Dickten Masch and Techniplas. I’m confident in her ability to encourage collaboration and the sharing of best practices between the companies while driving innovation in meaningful ways that benefit all of our customers.”

Votis, the former leader of injection molder Moll Industries Inc., is the principal investor in Patmian LLC, a privately owned firm that has owned Dickten Masch since 2010.

Korth has a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and a master’s in international management from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird).
