BORN, NETHERLANDS (Dec. 21, 9:35 a.m. ET) — Invista Engineering Polymers, a subsidiary of Wichita, Kan.-based Invista, has acquired a European compounding facility previously owned by VSL Born BV.

The facility, based in Born, compounds and recycles polyamides used in automotive, electrical, industrial and consumer goods applications. The site employs about 30 workers. The deal closed today.

“Europe is a critical region for automotive manufacturers and other global decision-makers within the industry,” spokesperson Kurt Burmeister said in a statement. “The Born site’s expertise, location, employee values, and position as a trusted compounder made them the right fit for our company.”

Invista will use the plant to produce own-brand products such as its Torzen PA66 resin.
