ROCK HILL, S.C. (Jan. 7, 2 p.m. ET) — 3D Systems Corp. has signed a deal to buy Geomagic Inc., a supplier of design, sculpt and scan software tools used to create 3D content and inspect products.
Terms were not disclosed. When the deal closes, Geomagic founder and CEO Ping Fu will become 3D Systems’ chief strategy officer.
According to Rock Hill-based 3D Systems, the deal will strengthen its 3D authoring platform and positions the company for growth in the 3D content-to-print space.
