Blow molder Priority Plastics Inc. has purchased CCW Products Inc. in Denver, a move to expand into clear PET and PVC wide-mouth bottles.

“Those are two new product offerings for us,” said Priority President and CEO Andrew Srenco.

Terms were not disclosed for the deal, announced Dec. 17.

Priority Plastics, based in Portland, Ind., makes extrusion blow molded polyethylene bottles such as tight-head containers, motor oil and other automotive bottles and series and stock containers, and injection molds lids. Priority also blow molds canisters for towel wipes and has a production line for inserting the wipes and making the finished product.

Srenco said CCW uses the extrusion blow molding process for both PVC and PET containers.

Before buying CCW, Priority Plastics had a single machine molding wide-mouth PET canisters, at its plant in Grinnell, Iowa, he said. That machine blow molds bottles from injection molded preforms.

Buying CCW Products gives Priority Plastics six plants: the Portland, Ind., headquarters; Grinnell; Grand Prairie, Texas; Mesa, Ariz.; Las Vegas; and now Denver.

CCW has annual sales of $19 million from its 80,000-square-foot plant, where it employs 103. That brings Priority Plastics to sales of more than $70 million and 350 employees.

Priority serves the markets of nutrition, health care, household and industrial chemicals, food and beverage, janitorial and sanitation, and personal care. It uses the process of extrusion blow molding, injection blow molding, injection stretch blow molding and injection molding.

The company specializes in handleware for its PE bottles, which range from 2 ounces to 15 gallons.
