NEENAH, WIS. (Jan. 8, 10:30 a.m. ET) — Menasha Packaging Co. has acquired Rand Diversified, a contract packaging and fulfillment business, based in Edison, N.J.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition — which includes a design office and fulfillment center in Edison along with fulfillment centers in Edwardsville, Ill., and Tobyhanna, Pa. – will strengthen Menasha’s geographic coverage, company officials said in a news release.

According to the release, the two companies have distinct capabilities. Rand has a strong focus on contract packaging and experience working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Drug Enforcement Administration, while Menasha focuses on the food, household and personal care markets as well design, manufacturing, fulfillment and logistics services.

The acquisition will increase Menasha’s presence in the over-the-counter pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods markets, according to the release.

Menasha makes a variety of packaging including corrugated cartons, shipping containers and point-of-purchase displays, largely out of paperboard.

The company now has 16 fulfillment operations in eight states and more than 2,300 employees.

Menasha Packaging, based in Neenah, Wis., is a subsidiary of Menasha Corp.

Menasha Corp.’s other holdings include Orbis Corp., a manufacturer of plastic reusable packaging, and marketing firm LeveragePoint Media.
