TARRYTOWN, N.Y. (Jan. 9, 11:15 a.m. ET) — Compounder and concentrates maker Ampacet Corp. has invested 25 million euros ($32.6 million) in a new headquarters in Dudelange, Luxembourg, to cover the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
The center, which opened last month, expands the firm’s black and white masterbatch production, increasing capacity by 60 percent.
The Tarrytown-based company says it will also use the plant to improve its environmental footprint. The new centre includes a waste water treatment plant and a sorting area for recycling, while the production line is designed to recover wasted heat.
Ampacet chose Luxembourg because of its central location and wealth. In addition, the Benelux region is dominant in the white, color and additives masterbatch market, says the firm.
The Benelux region is the third largest consumer of masterbatches, behind Germany and Italy but ahead of France and the United Kingdom, according to Ampacet.
