NORTHBROOK, ILL. (Jan 15, 11:30 a.m. ET) — Safety standards company Underwriters Laboratories Inc. has acquired Overland Park, Kan.-based Innovadex LLC, which developed a search and information exchange platform for suppliers of chemicals, ingredients and raw materials.
The platform offers technical documents about materials to customers. The deal expands UL’s search offerings to new product categories, including paints & coatings, adhesives, inks, lubricants, cosmetics, cleaners and food & beverages.
Last year Northbrook-based UL bought plastic materials information firm IDES Inc.
Innovadex’s team will remain at the company’s Overland Park headquarters.
