Multi-Plastics Inc. offers a laminated pouch structure for easy-open stick packs or similar applications.

EZTear provides mechanical tear initiation and control of tear across a pouch at less cost than conventional technologies, such as laser scoring.

Multi-Plastics of Lewis Center, Ohio, claims EZTear gives easy tear initiation, printability, stiffness, high burst strength and puncture resistance. The company claims it is well suited to powdered dry goods, wet goods, medical and cosmetics uses.

“End users will no longer have to struggle to open convenient single serve, on the go products,” predicts Multi-Plastics product manager and inventor David Parsio, in a news release.
