NASHOTAH, WIS. -- Dickten Masch Plastics LLC is adding both equipment and technical capabilities at its Monterrey, Mexico, plant to keep up with the demand for thermoset molding in the region.
DMP Monterrey has seen a 40 percent increase in sales since DMP – based in Nashotah, Wis. – bought the facility from UPG International Inc. in 2011, the company said in a Jan. 29 news release.
The site currently has seven thermoset presses and will add another three presses during 2013, along with secondary processes such as de-flashing machines to improve operating efficiencies.
DMP Monterrey has compression molding, reaction injection molding and injection-compression molding. The new investments will aid the site's ability to process a mixture of thermoset materials including bulk molding compound, phenolic resin and sheet molding compound.
In addition, the company is bringing additional training and personnel to Monterrey to improve the technical capabilities. The training will include both in-house programs and support from outside groups such as RJG Inc., a Traverse City, Mich.-based consulting and training business for the plastics industry.
