EUGENE, ORE. -- Bulk Handling Systems is boosting its world presence with the acquisition of Nihot Recycling Technology BV, a designer and manufacturer of controlled air separation systems based in Amsterdam.

Eugene, Ore.-based BHS designs, manufactures and installs sorting systems and components for the solid waste, recycling, waste-to-energy, construction and demolition industries. It has worked with Nihot for a number of years, according to a statement from BHS CEO Steve Miller.

Nihot's air technology system is used in more than 500 operations worldwide. Its separation systems are used in the sorting of many materials, municipal solid waste, fuel generated from waste, construction and demolition waste, and biomass.

Nihot was established in 1945 and its products are used to separate waste based on material density and volume.

A statement from Cees Duijn, Director Nihot, said that "combining our technology, product offerings, global resources and expertise will enhance every function of our business."
