ANAHEIM, CALIF. -- Injection press manufacturer Sumitomo (SHI) Demag is set to open an 8,000-square-foot technology center in Strongsville, Ohio, on April 10.

The one-day event will feature seven molding demonstrations, using all-electric, hybrid and hydraulic presses. The presses will be running medical, automotive, ultra-high-speed thin-wall packaging and closure applications.

The company announced plans for the open house at the Plastec trade show in Anaheim, which opened Feb. 12.

"In a non-NPE year, this event will be the best opportunity for North American molders to see this range of machines, molding demos and advanced technology all in one place," said John Martich III, chief operating pfficer of Sumitomo (SHI) Demag's U.S. operations.

The center will be used for customer mold demos and trials, technology testing and training.
