ANAHEIM, CALIF. -- Herrmann Ultrasonics Inc. showed a technology advance and, with Oxyphen AG, demonstrated a fully integrated work station at the Medical Design and Manufacturing West trade show, held Feb. 12-14 in Anaheim.
The demonstration transferred Oxyphen microporous track-etched membranes -- made of polyester or polycarbonate -- on Herrmann's newest HiQ modular punch-and-weld (MPW) machine.
Applications in automotive, life science and medical can benefit from using the membranes with the Herrmann machine, said Peter Terstappen, head of product development for Oxyphen in Wetzikon, Switzerland.
Herrmann in Bartlett, Ill., is an operation of Herrmann Ultraschalltechnik GmbH & Co. KG of Karlsbad, Germany.
Oxyphen and Herrmann have built a special relationship that prompts Oxyphen on its U.S. literature to say: "We highly recommend using the new modular ultrasonic punch and weld system MPW by Herrman Ultrasonics Inc. to process [Oxyphen's] Unique-Mem track-etched membranes and RoTrac track-etched membranes."
