American Leistritz Extruder Corp. will hold its eighth annual Pharmaceutical Extrusion Seminar June 12-13. Classroom sessions will be held at the Holiday Inn Select in Clinton, N.J. Extrusion demonstrations will be held at the nearby Leistritz Process Laboratory in Somerville, N.J.

Topics include twin screw extrusion theory and design, continuous compounding, process validation and downstream systems.

Hands-on demonstrations will include: nano-16 twin screw extrusion system making 50-gram batch samples; film/lamination extrusion for transdermal or dissolvable film; micro-pelletization extrusion for direct capsule filling, melt granulation extrusion technology for high potency/strength tables; and extrusion for compounding heat/shear sensitive products during hot melt extrusion.

Registration costs $820 if received by May 15. After that date, it costs $920.
