WINONA, MINN. -- Compounder RTP Co. has licensed manufacturing rights from ExxonMobil Chemical Co. for Santoprene TPV, a thermoplastic vulcanizate nylon bondable thermoplastic elastomer.

Winona-based RTP announced that it has begun producing the products using the same Santoprene TPV technology as Houston-based ExxonMobil, "to provide current users a seamless supply transition and will also develop new markets and applications".

RTP has been producing specialty TPV compounds for more than 20 years, according to RTP's Scott Mumm. Adding Santoprene TPV products to its portfolio "will expand our bondable TPE product line and give us a definite advantage by having the highest performance materials in the nylon bondable arena," he said in a news release.
