David Weisman LLC of Stamford, Conn., has introduced a relatively slow response electric infrared heaters for use in thermoforming. The technology gives superior temperature uniformity across the heater faces, company officials say.

The heaterscan be provided with a composite, neoceramine or metal face, depending on the use, above or below the plastic being heated, and the customer’s equipment cleaning philosophy.

Heaters can be used stand-alone or as part of a sheet-fed or indexing system.
