WASHINGTON -- Two North American divisions of international companies have jointed the EPS Industry Alliance (EPS-IA), the expanded polystyrene trade group announced Tuesday.

Takashima USA Inc. and Sunchem Evergreen Chemicals USA LLC are the most recent additions to the more than 60-member group. "The addition of international resin suppliers like Takashima and Sunchem is an exciting sign of growth, and EPS-IA is happy to see increased participation from this sector of the resin community," group said in a news release.

Takashima USA Inc., established in 1971 in California as the U.S. base for Takashima and Co. Ltd. of Tokyo, is primarily focused on importing and distributing industrial materials and exporting U.S. goods to Japan with particular focus on resins and solar energy-related products.

Sunchem Evergreen Chemicals is a subsidiary of China-based Sunchem Group. Founded in 2002, it is the exclusive distributor of Sunchem Jiachang EPS to North America, Japan and parts of Asia with a product line that includes high expansion, flame retardant and fast-cycling polystyrene.
