MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO — Jim Stobie has been named CEO of Macro Engineering & Technology Inc., a new position in the company.

Macro created the position to allow President Mirek Planeta to step away from the day-to-day operations of the business, freeing his time to focus on technical efforts and complex engineering projects.

Stobie was previously vice president of sales and marketing. He joined Macro in 1993 and rejoined the company in 2012 after a six-year stint at Brampton Engineering.

"Jim is an experienced leader who consistently delivers results," Planeta said in a news release.

Stobie is a past president of the Plastic Film Manufacturers Association of Canada.

Macro Engineering is a Mississauga-based supplier of film and sheet extrusion machinery.
