SCHAUMBURG, ILL. — Auxiliary equipment maker ACS Group has named a new president, Jim Holbrook, a mechanical engineer with an MBA who has experience at engineering and manufacturing companies.

Holbrook spent more than 20 years with Emerson Electric Co., the last 11 years in division for Emerson's controls and motor businesses. Then he was general manager for ITT Corp.'s North American residential and commercial water business.

Most recently, Holbrook was president and CEO of Ramu Inc., a venture-capital-funded startup company working to develop a new motor technology. Ramu was sold to Regal Beloit Corp. in 2011.

Holbrook replaces Thomas Breslin, who was the former president and CEO of ACS. Breslin is no longer with the company, an ACS spokesman said.

Breslin could not be reached.

ACS has its executive offices in Schaumburg. The auxiliary machinery company's factory is in New Berlin, a suburb of Milwaukee.

ACS Group's product brand names include AEC, Sterling, Cumberland Engineering, Colortronic North America, Walton/Stout, Wabash, Carver and Economizer.

"I am pleased to be part of the ACS Group and look forward to serving our customers and growing our leadership position," Holbrook said in a prepared statement.
