LAKE CITY, S.C. — ICE Recycling LLC, a Lake City, S.C.-based company specializing in industrial recycling, has purchased a new facility in Florence County, S.C., an investment of $1.05 million.

The new 200,000-square-foot facility will nearly double the company's available processing space as well as creating 15 new jobs, owners Butch Crawford and Larry T. Gay Jr. announced in a press release.

South Carolina's recycling sector has seen more than $790 million in capital investment and more than 1,500 new jobs since January 2011, the release indicates.

"We are excited that this locally owned, home-grown and fairly new company has announced their plans to expand in Florence County. I congratulate them on their continued success," Buddy Brand, chairman of the Florence County Economic Development Partnership, said in the release.

ICE Recycling has already started operations at the new facility, the release indicates.
