CANAL FULTON, OHIO — Custom extruder New Image Plastics Manufacturing Co. has dedicated five extrusion lines to make filament for three-dimensional printers, a growing market, President James Waring said.

The company makes the 3D printer filament from specialty ABS and polylactic acid, in diameters of 1.75 millimeters or 3 millimeters. Waring said the filament has a tolerance of plus or minus 0.01.

New Image, in Canal Fulton, also extrudes plastic welding rod and custom profiles. The company also does some fabrication, Waring said.

He said the 3D printer market has been growing, as the machines grow in popularity.
