DES PLAINES, ILL. — Inplex Custom Extruders LLC is changing its logo and location, planning a move to a more modern facility in Naperville, which is 40 miles southwest of its present home.

"Our current facility is separated into four different bays. We'll now have 42,000 square feet of wide-open space that is more conducive to work flow layout," said Robert Anderson, president and CEO, a telephone interview.

Anderson said the company will be making a gradual move, probably in late August, to a building that the company purchased. The lease in Des Plaines lasts until December.

Once the new building's lighting, electrical setup and plumbing have been updated, the firm will move its 10 extrusion lines in stages.

Anderson said some of the equipment will be replaced rather than moved, but did not want to offer any details.

He said that current management and ownership remains the same, and all 57 employees are expected to make the move. The new location will offer an air-conditioned building in an area that is closer to public transportation.

Anderson said the company has doubled its sales in the last three years. It coats wire and makes profiles and tubing. He said no industry accounts for more than 10 percent of its business.

"We've been looking for more custom rather than commodity work and we've had some significant growth in the oil and gas industry," he said.

At the same time, the company has launched a new logo to reflect the transformation of its company over the last five decades. Anderson said that the Inplex logo represents its modernization and forward thinking.
