BRIGHTON, MICH. — Jenerxx Inc., a plastic resin technical marketing and sales group, recently gained certification as a Women's Business Enterprise.

The Brighton-based company was formed in May 2000 to help suppliers get the right approvals to do business with the automotive industry, but according to President Robert Chaplin, it has grown to serve many different industries — any that need to develop alternative suppliers.

"It's always been 50-50 with my wife — she always did the administrative, and I did the sales and marketing, but now she has the majority ownership and she went through the certification process with the WBENC," said Chaplin.

The certification is offered by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council and dealing with a WBENC company can help meet diversity goals.

So, Jennifer Chaplin is now the CEO, while Robert is the president. Their son, Paul Chaplin is the secretary and administrative manager.

The company offers generic off-sets to most brand-name materials, recycled content where needed and minority sourcing.
