Equipment Sales Co. of Sioux City, Iowa, has introduced the Lase One, an affordable alternative to expensive laser welders for repairing injection molds and dies made from aluminum, steel or beryllium copper.
The limited heat process (called pulse-pulled plasma arc) minimizes mold and die deformation and results in easier, cleaner, finishing, the company said. Typical applications include parting lines, corners, edges, pin holes, scratches and fixing machining errors
Equipment Sales said Lase One is safe and easy to use by people with no previous welding experience.
