Haier buys second Cannon VAI rigid PU foam plant

PESCHIERA BORROMEO, ITALY — Cannon SpA announced an order for a second vacuum assisted injection (VAI) rigid foam line has been placed by appliance giant Haier Group for its domestic refrigerator plant in Qingdao, China.

Cannon is to supply one 16-fixture foaming and polyurethane line made up of two eight-fixture rows. Cannon, which declined to give a value for the deal, said its vacuum assisted technology would enable the plant to produce four cabinets per minute.

Delivery and start-up is expected in the second half of the year.
