BAYTOWN, TEXAS — United Steelworkers Local 13-2001 said it has ratified three separate agreements with ExxonMobil's refinery in Baytown.

The USW represents workers employed in the rubber industry, among other sectors.

The three-year contracts cover 850 workers in the operations, maintenance and laboratory groups at the complex. The agreements meet the provisions of the National Oil Bargaining policy and were recommended by the bargaining committee.

The union said ExxonMobil agreed to bargain over the American Petroleum Institute's recommended practices on fatigue and to establish a limit on the number of consecutive days an employee can work. The company also will use a full-time union process safety representative to address safety concerns, the union said.

Workers will receive a 3-percent increase the first year, a 3-percent increase the second year, and in the third year whatever is negotiated in 2015 for process and maintenance employees at ExxonMobil's plants in Torrance, Calif.; Billings, Mont.; Chalmette, La.; and Beaumont, Texas.
