Homopolymer polypropylene improves thermoforming

May 22, 2013

Polychim Industrie S.A.S. has developed a homopolymer polypropylene for thermoforming that it claims gives good aesthetics, high quality and faster throughput.

HA31XTF relies on a nucleating agent from Milliken & Co. to overcome performance trade-offs often encountered with conventional nucleated PP for thermoforming.

Milliken says its Hyperform HPN-600ei grade increases transparency and reduces yellowing of the Polychem thermoforming grade. Polychim of Loon Plage, France, boosted crystallization temperature, reduced warpage and allows productivity increases of up to 10 percent in the new PP.

Polychim’s North American operation is based in Garyville, La., tel. 985-535-2000. In France, Polychim can be reached at tel. 33-328-58-0270 or fax, 33-328-27-2665.
