Nova Chemicals Inc. has added recycled-content to its expandable polystyrene lineup for packaging and shape molding.
The Pittsburgh-based company says it launched a 25 percent recycled content EPS to help customers achieve sustainability goals.
Nova’s R625B resin conserves natural resources and can spur development of EPS recycling, noted Nova global business director for EPS John Thayer in a news release.
Nova’s new resin relies on 25 percent by weight of EcoSix recycled PS from Rapac LP of Oakland, Tenn. Nova claims its new EPS is more consistent than competing recycled-content EPS and processes like virgin EPS with no extra equipment needed.
