AGR opens sales and service center in Thailand

BUTLER, PA. — AGR International Inc., a Butler-based maker of testing equipment and quality-control devices for container packaging, has opened a sales and service office in Bangkok to serve all of Asia.

AGR officials said southern Asia has been one of the fastest-growing packaging markets over the last several years. The company had been serving the region remotely. The Bangkok facility will help AGR serve the growing customer base.

The equipment maker has named Martin Küstner, a 14-year AGR veteran, to head AGR Bangkok Ltd. Küstner was regional director of AGR's central and northern European sales and service territory, headquartered in Munich.

AGR Bangkok has an experienced technical sales team and several factory-trained service technicians, all certified by the company. AGR's previously established Chinese sales and service team also will work under the supervision of the new Bangkok office.

"Emerging markets have been growing tremendously for AGR over the last few years. Because of this, AGR felt it necessary to make a long-term commitment … in this region," Küstner said.

AGR has customers throughout Asia, including Japan, Korea, China, Thailand and the Philippines, as well as in New Zealand.
