Nyloncraft buys former NYX facility in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The Techniplas Group has continued to build up its capabilities in under-the-hood automotive plastics with its Nyloncraft Inc. acquiring an Indiana maker of brake reservoirs, surge tanks and suspension components.

Nyloncraft will add the former NYX Inc. facility in Fort Wayne, Ind., to its holdings, which specialize in vacuum boost technologies and structural parts for the auto and heavy truck industries, the companies announced in a June 10 news release.

“Under-the-hood components are critical areas of focus when looking toward the future of fuel-efficient vehicles,” said Jim Krzyzewski, president and CEO of Nyloncraft, based in Mishawaka, Ind.

The Fort Wayne site will also supplement Nyloncraft’s capabilities in providing parts for small engines and sealed plastic welded products, he said.

The operation will operate as NCI Fort Wayne.

Kim Korth, president and CEO of Techniplas and CEO of the group’s Dickten Masch Plastics LLC of Nashotah, Wis., said the deal will also allow the Fort Wayne operation of Livonia, Mich.-based NYX to become part of a more global company.

Techniplas is the group recently formed by investment group Patmian LLC to oversee its plastics operations, including Nyloncraft, Dickten Masch and Vallotech SA of Vallorbe, Switzerland.
