Saint-Gobain Aerospace in Ravenna, Ohio, said it has signed a long-term contract with Bell Helicopter of Fort Worth, Texas, to supply nose radomes for the new Bell 525 Relentless helicopter program.

The company did not disclose the value of the contract for the radomes, a weatherproof housing for radar antennas.

"Saint-Gobain's high-transparency radomes provide the clearest window for the weather radar for the Relentless, which provides the maximum range and the best weather image for the pilot during flights that are facing inclement weather," Dan Orwig, sales manager, Advanced Radome Solutions for Saint-Gobain Aerospace, said in a news release.

Saint-Gobain Aerospace specializes in the design, manufacture, repair and certification of high-performance aerospace composites and radomes.

Saint-Gobain Aerospace is part of Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, which employs more than 5,000 employees in 16 countries and supplies high-performance plastics including films, foams, coated fabrics, bearings, seals and fluid systems. Both are part of Paris-based Saint-Gobain, one of the top 100 industrial companies in the world.
