3D Parts expanding in Indiana, moving work from China

June 20, 2013

Additive plastics and metal parts maker 3D Parts Manufacturing LLC will invest $6 million in new production capabilities in Indianapolis, moving work from China to the United States.

The Indianapolis-based company will lease and equip a 25,000-square-foot space and expects to create 65 new jobs by the end of 2018, 3D Parts executives and Indiana economic development officials said in a June 20 news release.

3D Parts uses PolyJet three-dimensional technology for its plastics parts. It originally launched production in Weifang, China, but now will house all part production in Indianapolis.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered $625,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $75,000 in training grants to help finance the project.
