Molded Devices Inc. is expanding its dip molding capabilities with the recent acquisition of Dempsey Industries of Miamisburg, Ohio., according to Andre Guardi, managing director of Moss Adams Capital LLC, an investment banker which acted as an adviser and also helped with the financing of the deal.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Guardi said MDI is expanding both internally and through acquisition. It expects to maintain the Miamisburg site along with its 33 employees.
Molded Devices, located in Riverside, Calif., does custom dip molding, dip coating and injection molding.
Earlier this year it purchased another dip molder, U.S. Plastic Coatings of Sellersville, Pa. The company also has facilities in Tempe, Ariz., and Waterbury, Conn.
A 2012 acquisition of a rubber molding facility also gives MDI rubber dip molding capabilities at its Riverside location.
