Diamond America Corp., an Akron, Ohio-based company that makes extrusion equipment for the food, catalyst, rubber and plastics markets, said Terry Hendershot, its vice president of sales and operations, has been promoted to president.

Diamond America said Hendershot's promotion coincides with its recent brand re-launch "that repositioned the company to reflect initiatives to accelerate innovation, elevate design and engineering processes, and capitalize on the company's manufacturing capabilities."

Hendershot said the company's focus "will remain on designing equipment to meet the specific needs of each individual customer, and delivering equipment that is built to exceed the highest standards."

The company said Hendershot has 26 years of experience in extrusion markets that include high-tech ceramics, catalyst, brick/tile, food, chemical, rubber and butyl extrusion.

"Since joining Diamond America Corp., Terry has proven himself to be an invaluable part of our executive team," CEO Mike Magee said in a news release. "Under Terry's leadership, our sales have increased by 25 percent, and our equipment offerings have expanded into new and emerging markets.

"With the company's recently announced strategic shift toward the catalyst industry, Terry possesses the experience and leadership qualities to develop and implement the knowledge-based solutions model we are committed to," Magee said.
