Nordson EDI Europe NV, will debut at K 2013 under its new name. Westlake, Ohio-based Nordson Corp. bought flat die maker Constructewerkhuizen G. Verbruggen NV in Temse, Belgium, in 2011, then last year picked up Extrusion Dies Industries, the flat die maker in Cheppewa Falls, Wis.
In addition to building new dies in Temse, the company now handles all European remanufacturing projects there.
Andrei Stapinoiu, managing director of Nordson EDI Europe, said the Belgian operation can works on Vergruggen and EDI dies. “For [European] customers that order die systems based on U.S. designs, local manufacture enables them to avoid the shipping costs, duties and lead times associated with sourcing dies from the U.S.A.,” he said.
