DENVER — Dow Chemical Co. of Midland, Mich., is asking the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn a $1.1 billion fine imposed by U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan., which ruled that Dow took part in a polyurethanes cartel, court documents show.

The filing, dated Aug. 26, said more details will need to be given to the appeals court by the middle of October.
