Spanish machine maker Comexi invests in R&D center

RIUDELLOTS DE LA SELVA, SPAIN -- Comexi Group, a Spanish maker of packaging machinery, is opening its first R&D center.

The 6,000-square-foot center will be based in the company's headquarters in Riudellots de la Selva, A company representative told European Plastics News.

The company said it plans to invest 4-5 percent of its total turnover in the center.

According to a news release, the R&D area will allow the company to test prototypes, work on new ideas for Comexi products, and work on collaborative research with clients. Equipment will include a flexographic printing system and a gas chromatograph.
