Poly-Tainer Inc., a major producer of food and dairy containers in North America, picked robots from CBW Automation for the production of its new Wave Series containers for Marzetti-brand veggie dips.

The container has a transparent lower window to customers can see the product. A “wave” designed around the bottom of the container, and the use of in-mold labeling, give a photographic quality of the package.

CBW, of Fort Collins, Colo., developed automation that gives exact placement of the label.

The containers are designed for dips, salsas, olives and yogurts. The Poly-Tainers Wave Series won the gold award for Best Product Family at the In-Mold Decorating Association’s awards competition.
