KraussMaffei Berstorff has extended the range of its QuickSwitch system for changing pipe extrusion dies. The system, which allows operators to change dies "on the fly", is now available in the larger diameter range of 250-450mm.

At K 2013, the extrusion division of KraussMaffei Group is demonstrating its system capabilities for more sustainable production.

Polyolefin pipe extrusion systems in the 110-2,500mm diameter range and Quick-Switch systems can be equipped with internal pipe cooling (IPC) technology. In addition to external cooling, the pipe is cooled from the inside using ambient air, suctioned with side channel compressor contrary to the extrusion direction. This makes savings on space and investment costs, and leads to sustainable production as cooling water consumption is reduced.

KraussMaffei Berstorff will also show at K 2013 its expertise in sheet extrusion lines and compounding extruders.
