DÜSSELDORF, GERMANY — Austrian recycling machinery supplier, Erema Engineering Recycling Maschinen und Anlagen GmbH (Hall 9/C05), has unveiled an extrusion system at K 2013 that it claims can process a range of difficult materials including ones with high levels of moisture and contaminants.

The Intarema is capable of handling washed agricultural and post-consumer film flake (high, low and linear low density polyethylene), films with paper, wood or metals fillers and automotive and electronic regrind materials, as well as polystrene and PE food containers.

The machine uses Erema's Counter Current feed technology, which ensures an even flow material to the extruder and because of its tangential configuration the process is virtually pressure-free, explained the company.

"The extruder always has the ideal filling level and is never overfilled, which makes it much better to regulate," explained Michael Heitzinger, the company's chief technical officer.

Erema also is showing TVEplus, a processing development that enable users to turn materials that are difficult to handle into high-quality pellets using a combined system that filters, ensures melt homogenisation and offers high-performance degassing all in one step.
