Auto supplier Mayco International LLC will invest $2.88 million to renovate its Hartford City, Ind., plant to improve production.

The project will also add 120 new jobs by 2016, state officials announced in a Dec. 12 news release.

Mayco, based in Sterling Heights, Mich., makes interior and exterior injection molded trim. It was created in 2006 from the assets of the former Venture Industries and now has 47 facilities in seven countries including the 110,000-square-foot plant in Hartford City.

President Nick DeMiro said the company has been discussing how to expand production in Indiana for several years to help it meet increased orders for its sunshades and other systems.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Mayco up to $880,000 in conditional credits and up to $80,000 in training grants if it meets performance and hiring targets.
