Axion adds extruder to boost recycling capacity

Axion Recycled Plastics Inc. has added an extrusion line to meet growing demand.

The New Providence, N.J.-based company announced Dec. 23 that it added a 6-inch Davis Standard extruder, which began production on Dec. 13. The line gives the company an additional 1.8 million pounds of capacity to make reprocessed plastic per month.

“This was the first major project for our new company and it was great to see this completed on time and within budget,” Axion President and CEO Steve Silverman said in a news release.

The company now operates five extrusion lines in two facilities.
