SolidWorks and Matereality LLC of Ithaca, NY, announce the SolidWorks 2014 software release, which gives a connection to the brand new SolidWorks Materials Web Portal. That allows users to get application-specific data about materials properties, making it available to users of SolidWorks Simulation Professional and SolidWorks Simulation Program.

SolidWorks is a computer-aided design software package from Dassault Systemes SA. Matereality operates cloud-based databases for use in product design and manufacturing.

Under the Materials Web Portal, date certificates are published with each dataset. The system supports linear and non-linear material models. Users can add or delete data points and fine tune the fitted model to optimize their simulation results.

Once created, material models can be downloaded to the user’s SolidWorks Simulation software.
