Car and plane component maker L&L Products Inc. plans to establish a new plant on the western edge of the Czech Republic capital city Prague.

The Romeo, Mich.based firm, which specializes in structural reinforcement, acoustics, vibration reduction and composite parts, has leased a 5,300 square meters production unit at the Rudná Business Park.

L&L, which intends to produce non-woven materials there for the automotive sector, hopes to extend its manufacturing area on the site in the future, according to the industrial property agency Jones Lang LaSalle.

The business park, launched in 1997, now has 20 units occupied by a range of logistics, manufacturing and retail companies. Much of the park was built for higher added value industrial firms like L&L, said the agency.

The Czech Republic remains one of Europe's key automotive manufacturing states, after Slovakia, with Hyundai, Citroen, Peugeot, Toyota and Škoda all producing cars there.

L&L also provides materials and components to the commercial vehicles and other industrial industries.

L&L, whose European base is in Molsheim, France, has strategically located production plants elsewhere in Europe, in Turkey, China, India, Australia and Brazil. The firm has a global workforce of 800.
