Erema North America in Ipswich, Mass., now has an Intarema 1108 T, the new recycling system introduced last year at the K show by Austrian parent company, Erema Engineering Recycling Maschinen und Anlagen GmbH.

The Intarema is equipped with a Smart Start hot die-face pelletizer and an automatic backflushing screenchanger.

This spring, the company plans to add an Intarema 1108 TVE plus, the system for handling heavily inked and contaminated materials.

The patented Intarema system includes “counter current” technology, which the company said is a new configuration of Erema’s patented cutter/compactor extruder system, to increase production rates and consistency. The counter current reverses the flow, so the material moves against the direction of the extruder. An inverse tangential configuration now ensures that the extruder screw is filled virtually pressure-free with the preheated material. The screw takes what it needs to the extruder always has the idea filling level, Erema said. That gives increase process stability, extending the “operational sweet spot.”
