Schnipke Engraving Co. of Ottoville, Ohio, has seen a major improvement in speed in its design-to-part process by using the Sigmasoft thermoplastic simulation software, cutting the time for mold trials by more than 90 percent.

Schnipke has completed more than 150 projects using Sigmasoft since 2010. The company molds parts for the medical, healthcare, defense, aerospace, automotive and consumer electronics. The molder also does micromolding and overmolding.

The process simulation technology can detect cavity filling behaviors of plastic materials, overmolding of inserts, curing behaviors of different thicknesses, as well as do validate the design process.

Schnipke Engraving designers have found Sigmasoft provides stress analysis, part cooling, shear/fill runner balancing, pressure loss predictions and cycle time optimization.
