Officials of Piovan SpA are celebrating the Italian auxiliary equipment maker’s 50th birthday.

In 1964, Constante Piovan & Flgli was founded in Padua, Italy, as a metalworking shop equipped with machine tools such as lathes and a few milling machines. Founder Constante Piovan produced molds for leading companies, and he pushed the envelope to deliver better quality and more innovations.

His principle of customer orientation has linked the three generations that have run the company. Constante’s son, Luigi Piovan, joined the company in 1960. In 2000, Nicola Piovan took the helm, and made a strong move into international markets.

Today Piovan has 900 employees and five production facilities in Italy, Germany, Brazil, China and the United States. The company, based in Santa Maria di Sala, near Venice, has 21 subsidiaries, agents in more than 70 countries.

Of the 900 employees, 140 of them are customer assistance engineers.

Piovan manufactures equipment for drying and feeding, dosing and blending, PET chillers and temperature controllers.
