Dutch packaging company Twinpack BV has joined forces with Danish food manufacturer Hedegaard Foods A/S to create packaging company Eggs Posure A/S.

The companies say that Eggs Posure has been created to generate added value for the global egg industry by making innovative packaging concepts.

One of Eggs Posure’s products is already complete. Eggyplay is a polypropylene egg box design that can be re-used as a toy, go into a dishwasher or be recycled.

Once empty of eggs the colorful egg cartons the containers fit together to create fun toy building blocks for kids. The product is to be showcased at VIV Europe 2014 in the Netherlands.

Ivan Noes Jørgensen, CEO at Hedegaard Foods of Hadsund, Denmark, said of the partnership: “We can contribute in-depth knowledge of eggs, egg packaging, and sales, whereas Twinpack possesses specialist know-how within the manufacture and sale of packaging concepts worldwide. As such, we believe that Twinpack is a perfect match for us.”

Twinpack is based in Noordwijkerhout, the Netherlands.

“Packaging designs such as for the egg industry are obviously a niche product, but when you have a global reach, niches can be very interesting,” Jørgensen said. “We aim to have a turnover that is firmly in the double digits within five years.”
