Danish plastic toy producer Lego A/S  will expand the output capacity of its plant in Kladno, in the Czech Republic, shifting nearly all of the completion and packaging of its brick sets.

The sets are sent throughout Europe as well as markets in North America and Asia, said Cornelis Versluis, Senior Vice President for EU Packing and head of the company’s Czech offshoot Lego Production s.r.o, told local business daily Hospodářské noviny.

The project does not include Lego’s Duplo blocks.

The expansion will add as many as 930 more workers, and comes on top of an ongoing project expanding Kladno’s capacity by as much as 30 percent.

Lego’s Kladno plant is expected to employ up to 2,000 people by 2015.

Located about 30 kilometers from the Czech capital Prague, the facility ships 2.5 million units per week, and its output could be doubled. With the expansion completed, the factory’s production space will total some 150,000 square meters.
